History: Canon wiki
Actual wiki
Finland was born about 1000AD, and as small and powerless Nation it was inevitable that he'd be taken over by one of his more powerful neighbours.  Sweden was the one who won him, and Finland lived with him for the next 500 years through the Kalmar Union with the other Nordics, setting up their own house (and adopting a dog), and Sweden's rise to power.  During Sweden's fall from grace, Russia turned his sights back to Finland and Finland ended up going to stay at his house for a little while.  However, things fell foul when Russia started to force Russification on Finland, and after the Russian Revolution, Finland declared that without the monarchy their agreement was void and set himself up as his own Nation for the first time.  He escaped being dragged into WWI, but Russia turned his attention back to him in the early years of WWII and Finland found himself holding off one of the most powerful Nations on earth... and actually managing to hold his own.  By the time February came round, though, he was starting to struggle, and he turned back to Sweden for aid, only for Sweden to refuse it in the pursuit of neutrality, leaving Finland with the inevitability of having to negotiate peace with Russia.

Personality: Cheerful, bubbly and bright.  He enjoys being around people, and cares a lot about people too, and he's also pretty touchy feely.  He puts a lot of effort and energy into keeping his friends and acquaintances happy.  Coffee is his one true love, when he can get hold of it, but his tastes are rather eccentric to say the least and he cooks the most absurd combinations known to man.  He's also fond of anything quirky or cute and likes learning about celebrations from other cultures.  However, despite all this he's intensely and fiercely protective and loyal and a surprisingly fierce fighter: do not get on his bad side.

Abilities: As a Nation, Finland can't die unless there's no one that considers themselves Finnish any more.  Deadly injuries will put him out of action for a while but he will recover.  His health is linked to his economy - when the economy is bad Nations get colds.  He's obviously immortal and his ageing is linked to the state of his state.  He heals much faster than a human would.

Specific to Finland himself: he's much stronger than he appears.  He's also an incredibly good shot, primarily with firearms, but we know he's used a spear before and it's easy to assume that he used a bow in between as well.  He can also use knives and a sword, and is an excellent rider.  Language wise, he knows Finnish, Swedish, Russian and French, and can understand/get by in Danish and Norwegian.  He's been trying to learn enough German to get by in the politics of the day.

Inventory: WWII era sniper rifle and enough ammunition/powder for 30 shots and a WWII pistol and enough ammunition/powder for 20 shots.  Snow shoes and a camouflage cloak.  A flask of homebrew.

Anything else: In canon, Finland acts as father Christmas.  For the sake of RP I say that the magic is held within the sled rather than something that Finland can do on himself as it's unconfirmed in canon, so in game without the sled he won't be able to cross the world in a night.
